Gurevich Fine Art Welcomes Artist Michael Boss.

Winnipeg, Manitoba – October 29, 2013 – Gurevich Fine Art is pleased to announce that internationally recognized artist and art educator Michael Boss has joined the gallery. Boss is a Winnipeg based artist who has exhibited numerous bodies of work across Canada, the United States, Germany, Australia and Ukraine.

A fixture in the Winnipeg art community, Boss has taught art at post secondary institutions in Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick. He was Head of Education at The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba in Brandon for 7 years and has been Head of Studio Programs at The Winnipeg Art Gallery since 1998.

Using drawing and painting to photography, sculpture, installation, performance and poetry Boss' focus falls on conveying different points in his life. His drawings of icons and iconography represents an investigation of his ancestry and faith. While his conceptual work including his experience of parenting a female child speak to Boss' desire to meditate on the symbols that underlie the ordinary aspects of life.

Hogs and Horses, a collaboration between Boss and Diana Thorneycroft, will be his first exhibition at Gurevich Fine Art in October of 2014.
